Carling Cup goal summary – Brighton and Hove Albion vs Liverpool
Liverpool travelled to the Amex Stadium to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brighton-c38685 and Hove Albion in the Carling Cup. Going into the game, Liverpool were the firm favourites to win the game, mainly because on paper they were the superior side.

Despite taking the two goal lead, the dying minutes of the game proved to be rather uneasy for the Reds, as their opponents picked up a late goal and seemed to be looking to try and take the game into extra time.
The match kicked off with Liverpool taking the game to their opponents and in just the 6th minute, the Reds had taken the lead in the game.
Luis Suarez went on to play a delightful ball through to Bellamy and the striker zipped towards the ball. a much needed boost early on in the game.
After a dry spell that lasted nearly eighty minutes, Liverpool found the back of the net once again on the 81st minute. Bellamy was at the heart of things once again, as he played Maxi Rodriguez a pass and then the Argentine played on Kuyt. Kuyt
then made no mistake as his effort sailed into the goal and theoretically ended the tie.
In the 87th minute, Carragher took out Vicente in the Liverpool area and the referee had no option but to award the home side with a penalty.
In the 88th minute, Barnes stepped up to take the spot kick and smashed an effort into the Liverpool goal.
The last few minutes proved to be rather shaky for the Reds, but in the end the team managed to pull together just long enough to see the game through and progress to the next round of the game.
