Carlo Ancelloti urges http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 to step it up
Carlo Ancelotti is not a happy man. The Chelsea manager could only watch helplessly as his side lost yet another match – this time against Arsenal at the Emirates. The result means that Chelsea continue their downward spiral from the summit of the Barclays
Premier League. The Blues have managed to secure a meager 6 points from a possible 24. If Chelsea had not started the season in such spectacular fashion, they might even have found themselves in the bottom half of the table at this stage. Even the ever-reliable
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 looks like a shadow of his former self. The striker has scored 13 goals in the last 13 games against Arsenal, but was a bystander for most of the match. Needless to say, the Chelsea manager is worried.
Ancelotti was understandably downbeat after his side’s thrashing at the hands of Arsenal last night. The Chelsea boss said, “Arsenal put more quality on the pitch than us. They were able to play with the football. They played better than us. We didn't play
well. We're in a difficult moment. The table is not good but this is the reality. We have to wake up. Now we are sleeping.”
The Chelsea boss made the message crystal clear. Ancelotti urged his ailing side to wake up before it’s too late. If Chelsea continue like this, they risk losing not only the League title, but their Champions League spot as well. Tottenham are in action
on Tuesday. If Harry Redknapp’s side can get the win over Newcastle tomorrow, they will leapfrog Chelsea to take 4th place.
The decline of the defending champions in recent weeks has been almost beyond comprehension. From being 5 points clear at the top just two months ago, Chelsea are now struggling just to retain their place in the Champions League. It’s a difficult time for
the under-fire Ancelotti. However, the Chelsea manager still insisted that he is not worried about his job. If things don’t change soon, he may have to rethink his future at the club.
