Carlo Ancelotti Admits Blues Are Out Of Title Race But Remains Confident

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 that it would be difficult for his side to retain the Premier League crown this season. The Blues travelled to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers and suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat which
leaves them nine points behind league leaders Manchester United, who still have a game in hand.
Going into the game, the Wolves were in the bottom half of the Premier League table; the dreaded relegation zone. However, a win over the defending champions lifted their position and gave them hope to improve their season. It was Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa
who scored an own goal five minutes into the match which led Ancelotti’s side to their sixth defeat in the Premier League.
The former AC Milan manager has led Chelsea to their worst result in the league since the 1995-1996 season after leading them to their first ever double just a season before. He admitted while speaking to reporters that he did not expect to be sacked by
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who has replaced countless managers who failed to deliver over the past few seasons.
When asked about it, Ancelotti said he would be “surprised” if he was sacked. Despite the poor results the Italian was confident his side could still improve. He said, “Yes, I would be surprised. Obviously it is not my decision. I hope that I can continue
this job because I would like to stay here and I have a good relationship with the players and with the club.”
Ancelotti was disappointed with his side’s bad form, which has seen them win just one match out of their last nine in the Premier League and pick up only 10 points from a possible 33. However, Ancelotti remained hopeful, “We have to maintain confidence.
At this moment it's very easy to lose confidence, think it's not a good season, but we can fight for a lot of things. Nothing is lost at the moment.”
The Blues manager insisted his side still had the Champions League and FA Cup to win this season if they could not retain the Premier League. He said, “Obviously it's difficult to come back in the Premier League but we have the FA Cup and the Champions League,
and the most important thing now is to move on. We have to keep fighting for the title. But you can say now that the gap is not so good. There is a big gap.”
