Les Parisiens’ coach is disappointed at Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat against Porto in the Champions League, and has praised the opposing team for putting in an impressive performance at Estadio do Dragao
The Ile giants were less than impressive against the Portuguese champions on Wednesday, losing the match 1-0 in the end.
Portistas were the better side of the two and deservedly won the game, thanks to a brilliantly taken goal by James Rodriguez.
And Paris Saint-Germain coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is not happy with the way his side played in their second group game of the 2012/2013 Champions League campaign.
While talking to reporters, the 53-year-old stated that it was one of the toughest matches of the season so far. Porto played good football and they made life difficult for PSG on the pitch.
The coach said that it was a good game to watch, but it would have been better had the Parisiens won it.
"We came up against a team who played good football that is why we lost.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager added that the Paris club lacks experienced players at this level, and playing against a team like Porto, who has abundance of European experience, was tough. Paris Saint-Germain need more time in Europe to prove that they can
do well at this stage.
“We are not yet good enough to come here and match them. Porto have lots of qualities and an identity, we still need a bit of time, it is normal that we are not yet ready to come here and put in a quality performance.”
Praising the opposing team, Ancelotti said that Azuis e Brancos played brilliantly in the midfield and they controlled the game pretty well.
“The problem was more in midfield, where we struggled to create and control the game. Porto put lots of pressure on us in that area.”
However, the coach has asked his players to forget about the Porto game and focus on the upcoming league matches.
“Now we have to recover before the game against Marseille in Ligue 1."
Les Parisiens are set to face arch-rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 on Sunday, and Carlo Ancelotti would want all three points from that game.
