Carlo Ancelotti: “I wouldn't have been surprised to lose my job”
Many people are surprised to see Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti still firm on his seat despite the club's poor run of form. Ancelotti too has stated that he would not have been shocked if club owner Roman Abramovich had sacked him but insists he has a close
relationship with the owner.
Ancelotti said, “I wouldn't have been surprised to lose my job because this is football. I have been able to maintain a good relationship with the owner. I don't know how many coaches were able to manage this club with these sorts of results without being
dismissed, but again the owner has supported my job and I feel this because I have spoken with him”
Chelsea currently lie 5th on the Premier League table and Ancelotti has repeatedly confessed over the past few days that his sides’ title race is over. The Italian has acknowledged that he is now eyeing a finish in the top four this season. Ancelotti
went on to say that he had anticipated some sort of a dip in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s season after a wonderful start; but did not expect such a prolonged drought.
Chelsea have managed to secure only 11 points in the last 11 league games.
Ancelotti’s former assistant coach Ray Wilkins, however, has backed the Italian to turn thing around at Stamford Bridge. Wilkins stated that Ancelotti has loads of experience to rely on under such pressure.
He said, “Carlo's obviously been manager of AC Milan for eight years therefore that does come with a lot of pressure so Carlo is used to the pressure that comes with big jobs. The one thing that will be hurting Carlo won't be the media attention; it will
be the way the team are playing. He's extremely passionate about his football.”
Chelsea’s next League fixture is against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385. Before the season began, it would’ve been expected that the reigning League champions would cruise past this encounter. However, Rovers will gain confidence going into the match from Chelsea’s poor
run of form and the Blues 1-0 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 last week.
