Carlo Ancelotti admits Chelsea’s title bid all but over
Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his side’s chances of retaining the title are extremely slim after their loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.
The struggling champions succumbed to their sixth defeat of the season, putting the Chelsea manager’s future under intense speculation.
The Blues headed into the match at the Molineux stadium knowing that anything less than a win would end their title aspirations. A sixth minute own goal by Jose Bosingwa was enough to hand all three points to the hosts, ensuring that Chelsea remain in fifth
place in the Barclays Premier League.
The Blues are now nine points behind leaders Manchester United, who still have a game in hand. It seems their chances of regaining the crown are well and truly over. Even the normally optimistic Carlo Ancelotti had to admit that he doesn’t see a way back
from this defeat.
Speaking after their loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952, the Chelsea manager said, “It's very difficult to win (the league) but the most important thing is to come back and play football, to fight and move on. It is another defeat, our moment is not so good and it is a difficult
moment. But there are still a lot of games left. We have to keep going, work hard and move on quickly. It's difficult to explain. There is not one reason.”
Chelsea have now managed to win just once in last nine games played. It’s a remarkable fall from grace for a club which had a five-point lead at the summit of the League a mere two months ago. Their disastrous recent form has seen the Blues lose even their
Champions League spot.
Many believe that Carlo Ancelotti is a dead man walking. It’s only a matter of time before owner club owner Roman Abramovich loses his patience with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager. Although Ancelotti insists he doesn’t fear for his job, yet the Italian needs to adopt
a more realistic view of his predicament.
