The Argentine international has been struggling this season but the Paris Saint-Germain coach is confident that the former Palermo player will return to his personal best very soon
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 was replaced at half time in PSG’s last game against Troyes, and there are serious doubts whether the 23-year-old will play against AS Saint-Etienne in Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday or not.
Les Parisiens’ coach, Carlo Ancelotti has backed the Argentinean to find his best form and is in no doubts about the midfielder’s potential. While talking to reporters, the 53-year-old stated that Javier Pastore has a lot of potential and his only problem
is in his head.
The coach said that the former Palermo man is short of confidence at the moment but he has the ability to deliver the decisive pass like the one he did against Rennes from which Nene scored.
"Pastore has a confidence problem but he can play in a counterattacking side. He has the ability to deliver that final pass, like he did against Rennes for Nene's goal (21').
Ancelotti said that all PSG players are backing Pastore to find his best form and he needs to sort things out as quickly as possible.
“All his teammates believe in him, he just has some confidence issues and he needs to get out of this situation as quickly as possible.”
On a question regarding a number of Italian and Brazilian players at Parc des Princes, Caro Ancelotti said that its just coincidence and he doesn’t look at player’s nationalities or passports. The coach said that he is building a team here and Paris Saint-Germain
is destined to go very far in near future.
“When I'm building my team, I don't look at salary or passports of my players."
Talking about Coupe de la Ligue, the 53-year-old said that it’s an interesting competition and PSG want to win it. AS Saint-Etienne are one of the best teams in the competition and it will be a tough match against Les Verts on Tuesday.
"All the teams want top spot and the championship is very exciting. Saint-Etienne are a surprise team. They play good football with lots of young players."
