The Paris Saint-Germain coach believes that La Vecchia Signora are in strong position to defend their Serie A title and it would be pretty tough for other teams in the league to rival Antonio Conte’s side in that regard
Despite leaving Italy several years ago, Carlo Ancelotti still follows Serie A with great enthusiasm and is of the view that reigning Italian champions, Juventus FC, are in strong position to defend their title.
The PSG boss, while talking to reporters, stated that although he lives in Paris, he still follows Serie A and never misses a match in Italian league.
“I never miss a Serie A match,” Ancelotti told La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.
According the Les Parisiens coach, La Vecchia Signora are in a very strong position in the league and are currently eight points clear at the top of the table. With 44 points after 18 games, things are looking very good for Antonio Conte’s side and Ancelotti
feels that they are without any doubt, the strongest team in the top division of the Italian football at the moment.
“It seems to me that the Bianconeri have notched up a solid eight-point lead and are the strongest team in the Division.”
The 53-year-old, who has spent most of his managerial career in Italy, coaching the likes of Parma, Juventus and Milan, has backed Juventus to successfully defend their Serie A title. The Paris Saint-Germain feels that things can change quickly in football
but is confident that Juventus will not slip up from such a strong position.
“However, things can always be turned upside down in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. Let’s just say it won’t be easy for their opponents to bridge that gap.”
Talking about other teams in the Italian league, Carlo Ancelotti said that Napoli have the structure to do well on longer terms. However, at the moment, Walter Mazzarri’s side are not in the position to rival Juventus for the league title but they can build
a strong team for the future.
“I think http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 have the structure to do very well. It’s true they haven’t been enchanting of late and there was the points penalty, but in the long run Walter Mazzarri’s team will emerge.”
