Carlo Ancelotti believes Chelsea’s slump is finally over
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that the Blues have put their recent slump behind them. The Italian’s comments come just after Chelsea’s 3-1 thrashing of Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.
Chelsea stumbled to their worst run in the English Premier League (EPL) for more than a decade earlier in the season. A string of terrible results had left the Blues stranded in fifth place, despite being five points clear at the top of the table near the
beginning of the season. A particularly abysmal period throughout the month of December did most of the damage, prompting many pundits to write off their chances of retaining their EPL crown this season.
However, the Blues have slowly but surely starting to regain their form. Two wins in six days have brought the club back into contention for the League title. Chelsea are currently nine points behind leaders Manchester United, with a game in hand over the
Red Devils.
Though manager Carlo Ancelotti still refuses to believe that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 can retain their Premier League crown this season, the Blues boss insists that the team’s recent poor form is behind them. The Italian claimed that Chelsea are once again starting to show
why they are one of the most feared teams in England.
Ancelotti said, “Now we have three games where we have played very well, taking good results. I think the moment [Chelsea’s slump] is gone, finally.”
The Blues boss praised the performance of his players in the match against Blackpool, singling out http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 for their particularly impressive displays. “Terry's and Lampard's performances were very good, not just because they scored.
In general, the players gave good support to the team and this is important. Kalou made a fantastic impact, he moved very well and that was very important for us,” he said.
Though Ancelotti has written off Chelsea’s title chances this season, the Italian might still secretly believe that his team can pull it off.
Chelsea are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table with 51 points.
