Carlo Ancelotti believes he should not be judged only by results
It is believed that a manager’s record at a club is described by the results he achieves – but Chelsea FC’s Carlo Ancelotti simply disagrees.
He said, “I don't think it is the most important thing, to win. I know that a lot of managers are judged just on the results. Maybe in the future I will be an owner of a club. I will judge my coach not just on the results. The philosophy of the team, the
philosophy of the club, the atmosphere; there are a lot of things that you can judge."
The Italian tried to defend his tactics as the club’s manager, after the worst run of form for the Blues in over a decade.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have just won 1 league match in 7 attempts and have scored just 6 points off the possible 21. This horrendous record has seen them slip from 1st to 4th place in the English Premier League standings.
The former AC Milan boss was brought to Stamford Bridge by Roman Abramovich to introduce a free flowing brand of football. Ancelotti was successful in instilling the attacking flare in the Blue machine, that was lacking under former managers; they struck
a record 103 goals on their way to becoming English champions.
Carlo also touched on the reign of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. Wenger has not won any silverware in the past 5 years, but has managed to maintain the club’s philosophy of developing young players and playing eye pleasing football. The Italian was of the opinion
that the Gunners’ fans still had their faith in the French manager despite his inability to bring trophies to the club in the past years.
The 51-year-old enjoyed unprecedented success in his 1st season at The Bridge as he managed to claim the English Premier League crown and The FA Cup.
Carlo believed that the current dip in form is only temporary and the atmosphere at the club will be calmer once the team returns to winning ways.
Ancelotti also riterated his desire to continue as the Blues manager and dismissed all speculation about his departure from the club.
The former Juventus FC coach also commended Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson on breaking Sir Matt Busby’s record of being a United manager for 24 years, 1 month and 13 days.
He said, “I'm coming from Italy and for me it's impossible to think one coach could stay for 24 years. For me, he never lost his passion, he never lost his ability to manage the team and he's a fantastic example for every coach to follow. Obviously, everyone
I think hopes to have the same career at one club."
