The Paris Saint-Germain coach has currently initiated a mini revival of the club’s fortunes and despite claiming that his future was not at a great risk, it has been reported that the Italian did come close to getting sacked by the Qatari owners
The month of November was a very forgetful one for Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain. The month saw Carlo Ancelotti’s side manage just one win in their four Ligue 1 encounters. Furthermore, Les Parisiens were also dumped out of the Coupe de la Ligue by
the hands of AS Saint-Etienne on penalties.
Apart from good performances in the Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti did not have many reasons to smile. Amidst the events in the month of November, many news agencies all over Europe claimed that the astute Italian tactician’s future at Parc des Princes
is under a lot of scrutiny.
And, it was reported that club chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi had already shortlisted a few replacements for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager.
Local daily, Le Parisien claims that Ancelotti might have lost his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186. PSG won that game 2-1 and thus topped their group
of the competition.
And, it has been widely contested that victory over the Portuguese giants was the only thing that avoided the Italian from getting the boot from his Qatari owners who were not pleased to see their investments fail to perform the way they should be.
“I have been managing since 1995, I have been in 824 games and my bench has always trembled, this is not a problem,” said Ancelotti a few days ago during a press conference.
However, sources close to the club claim that the manager knew that he would be sacked if he failed to avoid defeat against PSG.
“Carlo knew before the match against Porto that he would lose his position in case of defeat,” said the source.
Reports claim that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056, the club’s sporting director and Nasser Khelaifi had already warned the Italian about his situation. However, Ancelotti was not rained down by the ultimatum, and like always, has turned things around.
