Carlo Ancelotti confident his departure will not affect Chelsea this season or the next
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed his departure would not affect the players, insisting they were professionals. The Italian manager’s position at the London club has come under speculation after he failed to deliver silverware this season. Not only
that, the Blues suffered their worst ever slump since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took charge of the club in 2003.
However, Ancelotti is not too worried about his job at Chelsea. The former AC Milan boss claimed that while he did not want to leave and was happy at Stamford Bridge; it would not be a problem if he was sacked at the end of the season. With a highly impressive
CV, clubs are waiting in line for Ancelotti, with Serie A side Roma leading the race.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 have made it clear they want Ancelotti to take over next season, with the Italian also having been linked with going to La Liga giants Real Madrid. There are a host of managers who have been linked with taking the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge, given
that Ancelotti leaves or is sacked at the end of this disappointing campaign.
Former Chelsea managers Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink have been linked with a return, while former Italy coach Marcello Lippi confessed of his interest to manage Chelsea. Abramovich has been considering current http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 boss Pep Guardiola, while Tottenham
Hotspur’s Harry Redknapp has also been linked with a surprise move.
Despite his departure looking imminent at this point, Ancelotti was confident it would not affect his squad this season or the next. He was certain they would remain indifferent and impartial to the decisions made by the board and would be happy playing
under whoever was brought in to replace him at the end of the season.
Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters, “They are Chelsea players, they are professional. This is football, that sometimes the manager can change. They are working with me at this moment. Maybe they will work with me in the future. Maybe they will not
work with me in the future, but with another coach.”
Ancelotti admitted his side had not had the best of seasons, but mentioned that they had made an amazing recovery in the latter part of the season. After having been eliminated from all the cup competitions and falling out of the top three in the English
Premier League, the Blues have gone on to win important fixtures to get back in the top three on the table.
The Italian manager continued, “This team have played good football and won a lot of games. Maybe two months ago, no-one could think we could come back to fight for the title. We didn't think this, but we are not so far from Manchester United and we're very
close to Arsenal. Two months ago, this was a dream.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are currently at third place, two points behind second place Arsenal and nine points behind league leaders Manchester United and have a game more to play.
The Blues take on Birmingham City tonight, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-Maseru-c38430 battle London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the results of tonight’s matches could very well determine who finishes second this season.
