With the summer transfer window in full swing, there have been some highly unbelievable transfer rumours surrounding top clubs and their key players. One of the rumours to emerge recently is that Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign John
Terry.
The ambitious French outfit finished second in the Ligue 1 and are looking to improve their squad so they can return stronger next season. One of their key areas of concern is defence which manager Carlo Ancelotti hopes to improve this summer.
What better defender to bring in than Chelsea and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 central defender John Terry. The 31-year-old has proved himself for both club and country time and time again, most recently displaying his talent for the Three Lions in the European Championships.
Terry was undoubtedly one of the best players in the England squad and one of the best defenders in the entire tournament. He saved his country on countless occasions, which makes it no surprise that he has been linked with a move to top European sides.
However, Ancelotti denied interest in the Chelsea captain, claiming that while his side were looking for a central defender but it was not John Terry. According to the Italian, the French side were already in touch with some players regarding a possible
move.
Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters:
“We are looking for a central defender. The club is in contact with some players, but not John Terry.”
The former AC Milan and Chelsea manager claimed his side were aiming to win not only the league in the upcoming season but also the Champions League. It was for this reason that he felt the need to bring in fresh faces that would bring something new to the
team and help them in the upcoming season.
He continued:
“Last year, we ranked second. This year, we clearly want to be champions. There's also the Champions League, which will be as important as Ligue 1. But I think it will be easier to win the league.”
