Carlo Ancelotti determined to have Luka Modric at Stamford Bridge
Zdravko Mamic, the Dinamo Zagreb vice-president recently claimed that the Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was interested in signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are in dire need of new signings in the upcoming January transfer window
and it seems Modric is on top of Ancelotti’s wish list.
Mamic is known to be close to the Croatian international and it was he who helped arrange his move to the English Premier League. Luka Modric arrived at White Hart Lane in 2008 for a reported sum of £16.5 million. He was confident when he claimed the Croatian
playmaker could be on the move again, especially since the Blues were showing such keen interest in him.
According to Mamic, the Blues boss admitted that he was a big admirer of Modric and was determined to have him at Stamford Bridge. Since his arrival in 2008, the 25 year old has matured and has been essential in his side’s revival, which has seen them reach
the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, where they are set to take on AC Milan.
Despite the slow start to his career in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, Modric has more than made up for lost time with his recent form. The Croatian Spurs player seems to be on fire these days, which is why it comes as no surprise that he has caught the attention of Carlo Ancelotti.
At this stage Chelsea could really use a player like him; the Blues have been facing a slump, which could be blamed on lack of creativity. The Blues had a fantastic start to the season, but the absence of a few key players saw them lose out to lowly sides
and eventually give up their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Modric’s arrival at Stamford Bridge would not only strengthen the squad, but add experience and creativity to a side, which seems to be perfect on paper but is unable to deliver results. Ancelotti will be desperate to land the player this January, so that
his side can renew their interest in the Premier League crown. The Blues are currently at fourth place as they prepare to take on London rivals Arsenal this week.
Mamic said while speaking to reporters,
“I was with Ancelotti for lunch. I was very proud when I heard what he said about Modric. Luka is top of his list, his first pick when it comes to new signings. I'm not Modric's agent, I am just his friend, but I am very proud. I don't want to say anything
more because I don't want to upset my friends at Tottenham.”
