The Italian held his players in high regard as Paris Saint-Germain managed to earn themselves a place in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France. The coach finds the Cup competition a difficult one to compete in, but believes that they have what it
takes to win it.
Carlo Ancelotti felt ecstatic as Paris Saint-Germain delivered a strong performance at the Parc des Princes, knocking out FC Toulouse in the Coupe de France. The coach went highlighted several players including Jeremy Menez, Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore
and Gregory Van der Wiel for their impressive display in the fixture.
The 53-year-old was happy after the game, as the win over Les Pitchouns grants PSG a place in the next round of the French Cup. The coach believes that although Toulouse proved to be a dangerous opponent, his players managed to do well. The Italian tactician
explained:
“It was a very good game. We played with intensity from the first to the last minute, with a lot of quality and concentration. It wasn't easy as Toulouse are dangerous, but the players did some great work. We had pace, used the flanks and got the ball deep.”

“Verratti played very well, he opened up the game, and stayed in position defensively, it was very positive.”
Ancelotti acknowledged that playing in the Cup is a lot different than competing in the league. PSG might be league leaders at the Ligue 1 table, but winning a fixture in a knock-out tournament didn’t prove easy for them. The former Chelsea manager stated:
“I'd said the Cup is dangerous, so it's good to have won in that manner.”
