Carlo Ancelotti hoping Didier Drogba returns to top form against Arsenal
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said he was confident that striker Didier Drogba would be back to his scoring best when the defending champions took on their opponents in the Premier League next week. The Blues fixture against Manchester United was postponed
because of the weather and now Ancelotti’s side will take on Arsenal over the weekend.
If Chelsea wish to beat the Arsenal and remain in the title race, then the fitness of Drogba is essential. The Ivoirian striker has struggled for consistency this season, which has affected the Blue’s performance. Drogba has not been up to his scoring best
but showed improvement in the fixture against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, which ended 1-1.
Drogba was hoping to continue his return against Manchester United, but unfortunately the striker was denied his chance when the match was postponed because of the snow. However, the Italian manager was confident that 32-year-old striker would be in his
best form once again just in time for the fixture against the Gunners.
Carlo Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters about his star striker, “We need Drogba to come back to the performances he had last year and the goal against Tottenham was very good for his attitude. I understand he has not been in a good condition.
He had difficulty to play with malaria, he was tired, he was not 100% and he found it difficult to train.”
The Italian was confident Drogba was back to his best again, he referred to the Tottenham game and added;
“Now his condition is better. He had a good reaction after coming on as a substitute in the last game, this is the important thing and following the goal against Tottenham he will show us a different Drogba in the next game.”

be depending the most on Drogba in this crucial, possible title deciding game.
