The 30-year-old referee gave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Sakho-c23293 his marching orders in a controversial decision that the Paris Saint-Germain coach finds hard to understand and feels that the referee has a problem
Paris Saint-Germain coach, Carlo Ancelotti has gone on the offensive and has criticised the credentials of LFP referee Clement Turpin who last night, controversially sent off Mamadou Sakho inside ten minutes of the first of the Ligue 1 encounter between
PSG and reigning champions Montpellier Herault at the Mosson on Sunday.
Sakho was given his marching orders by the young referee for man-handling La Paillade forward Gaetan Charbonnier. However, replays clearly suggested that both men were pulling at each others’ shirts so the decision turned out to a controversial one.
Ironically, Monsieur Turpin is the same referee who sent off http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073 to the dressing room and also sent Carlo Ancelotti to the stands during Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 game at Ajaccio earlier this season. Already, three people at PSG have been
sent off at the hands of the 30-year-old and Ancelotti feels that there is a problem with Turpin.
“I think there is a problem with Mr. Turpin, who has already given three red cards. However, I do not think that we are an aggressive team. Instead, we respect our opponents. And tonight (Sunday), Sakho is expelled, and it was not a foul. Turpin, he is young
and I think he wants to be a protagonist of the game. But tonight, he made a mistake.”
Ancelotti then went on to say that he did not say anything when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 was sent off for a malicious tackle on Stephane Ruffier in his side’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of AS Saint-Etienne because his player deserved his marching orders. However,
the Italian is not happy at the referee’s performance last night.
After a week in which http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 were held to draws against Sochaux and OGC Nice respectively, onus was on PSG to win the game against their under-pressure opponents in a bid to gain some breathing space between themselves
and the chasing pack.
However, thanks to Mr Turpin’s questionable performance, PSG will have to find some way of digesting the draw.
