Carlo Ancelotti not celebrating yet
Carlo Ancelotti can breathe a little easier after Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 7-0 thumping of Ipswich town in the F.A Cup. However, the Italian refuses to get carried away with the result, insisting that his players are not out of the woods yet.
The third round F.A Cup win will no doubt be a huge boost for the Blues, especially since they beat the opposition in such emphatic fashion. It was a statement of intent from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 as they look to bring their season back on track.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been low on confidence after a string of terrible results saw them slump down to fifth position in Premier League. The Blues are currently in the midst of their worst run of form in the league for more than 15 years. Prior to their
encounter against Ipswich town on Sunday, Chelsea had only won two of their last eleven games.
This win will undoubtedly restore some confidence to the struggling English champions; however, manager Carlo Ancelotti says that the result is not the turning point in Chelsea’s season.
Speaking after Sunday’s F.A Cup encounter, the Italian said, “We needed to have this kind of performance. The result was good and we did a lot of things well in this game - the performance of the team, the strikers scoring again. We don't have to be excited.
But, obviously, with this victory, our confidence will improve. We have to wait to say everything is okay. But we have to play more games to say the bad moment has gone.”
Despite the club’s recent fall from grace, the Chelsea manager still has the support of the fans, and more importantly, the backing of owner Roman Abramovich. During the match against Ipswich town, the crowd at Stamford Bridge chanted Ancelotti’s name, much
to the relief of the Italian. He said, “It's very nice, obviously, to hear the fans like that. We all have to be close, and the fans showed fantastic support today.”
Yesterday, Chelsea showed signs of returning to the deadly form that won them the double last season. We will see whether the Blues can replicate that form when they welcome Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 here on Wednesday.
