Carlo Ancelotti plans to remain in England after Chelsea exit
Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he was in no hurry to look for another job, after having recently been sacked by the Blues.
The Italian manager had a year remaining on his contract with the London side, but was sacked after failing to secure any silverware for Chelsea this season.
The 51-year-old became the first foreign manager to win the domestic double of the English Premier League and the FA Cup in his first season at a Premier League side.
However, that was completely disregarded when he was sacked moments after the final game of the Premier League season against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.
The former AC Milan boss was informed, while still at Goodison Park, that he had been relieved of his duties.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 owner Roman Abramovich has been severely criticized for his decision to sack Ancelotti, making one of the few managers in history to gain so much support from fans.
Since then he has been asked about his plans for the future, with his stay at Chelsea having been cut short.
Ancelotti revealed he wished to remain in England and manage an English Premier League side.
So far he has been linked with a move to recently promoted Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, who are reportedly having trouble with their manager Neil Warnock.
Ancelotti did not comment on being linked to the QPR http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
He did however mention that he was in no hurry to return to coaching, hinting that he could be taking a year or two off.
The Italian manager revealed how he had not taken time off from football except for brief periods and could be considering a break.
Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters:
“I have not had contact with the club; I still have to resolve my contract with Chelsea.
My intention is to remain in England.
I have spent two beautiful years here, I have felt really well and I want to remain here.
I am in no hurry to find an immediate solution.
Since 1995 up to now, I've only had a minor break, because I've always coached, and hence, this would be an opportunity to update myself, see new things, and face new challenges with a different experience.
For example, I will soon go to St Petersburg to see [compatriot and Zenit coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574] Spalletti.”
It is a widely accepted fact that Ancelotti had the ability to lead the London side to Champions League glory, having won the European Cup four times.
Ancelotti won the coveted European trophy twice as a player for Serie A side AC Milan and then twice as their manager.
The Blues are currently on the look-out for a replacement, with Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp as the favourite to take over the manager’s post.
