After scoring the opening goal against Marseille in Sunday’s Clasico, Carlo Ancelotti has praised http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345 for a great performance that keeps PSG’s title hopes very much alive
Intermittent often this season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 in this season’s second Clasico.
This is certainly good news for Paris SG who are still waiting to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 return to his early season form.
“Menez had a fantastic game,” said Carlo Ancelotti at a press conference after the match. Menez put in a Man of the Match performance against a Marseille side that is now winless in 11 games.
Menez delivered a fine performance indeed, fully aware of the game’s importance to the PSG faithful. Playing in the forward role, Menez was involved in almost every offensive move at the Parc and deserved to score the first goal of the game.
The former AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 man also took some time out to talk about his performance.
“In the game, all is not perfect. But in the spirit, there is nothing wrong. They lacked confidence before this match. I hope this victory will boost us and this is the beginning of a beautiful new series.”
With five goals and 10 assists since the start of the season, the Francilien has confirmed that he is indispensable for PSG, a status that Javier Pastore would love to have.
The Argentine international was not really involved that much in the game after being given the opportunity to revive himself in a Clasico. Ronaldinho, was accused to choose his matches, was able to swing the game in his side’s favour but the same can’t
be said for Pastore.
The youngster still isn’t capable of doing such a feat. Nine goals and just three assists in his first season for the Ile giants clearly show that Pastore has not settled down well.
However, Ancelotti is still patient with the young player.
“Pastore has done well offensively in the first half. After that, he became more defensive. He was tired so I replaced him.”
One cannot help but wonder what will become of Pastore if he keeps performing like that. Menez had a lot to prove upon his arrival and he has more or less done that. The same however, can’t be said of Pastore.
