The Paris Saint-Germain coach was glad to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 and Nene play ‘together’ in a tricky win over Valenciennes
Coming back from two goals down, Paris Saint-Germain managed to beat Valenciennes 4-3 away from home to go on top of the Ligue 1 standings. The win puts a lot of pressure on Montpellier who face Stade Rennais tonight.
And PSG coach, Carlo Ancelotti is happy to see the likes of Menez, Pastore and Nene play with a solidarity that was not too evident all season long.
Javier Pastore is showing signs of confidence and the young playmaker feels that the Valenciennes game was the best game his team played.
“I think it’s a our best game,” said Pastore after the game. However, the former Palermo man is not speaking on the behalf of the entire team. Instead, the youngster is talking about the attacking trio that includes him, Menez and Nene.
Indeed, the three midfielders turned attackers last night and proved that they were willing to sacrifice their individual brilliance for the good of the team.
And Ancelotti saw that clearly. The Italian tactician was pleased to see the trio make good use of their undoubted capabilities.
“They may have played in an individualistic way but they are now more willing to put their qualities for the overall good of the team.
Nene scored a goal and provided two assists, Menez scored a goal and had an assist to his name while Javier Pastore provided a delightful assist for Blaise Matuidi’s goal. The Argentine was the lynchpin of the team throughout the game.
Furthermore, the PSG players should be applauded for coming back into the game after first 10 catastrophic minutes.
Now, it remains to be seen whether they (trio) will be willing to repeat their performances in the last two games of the season where they will face Stade Rennais and Lorient respectively.
A needless foul earned Menez a yellow card and the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 man will miss the game against Lorient but the next game could be a great opportunity for PSG to pile up the pressure on Montpellier who have a tough run of games.
