Carlo Ancelotti says new players needed for title bid
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is all set to splash the cash in January transfer window after admitting that he would need new players to keep http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s title hopes alive.
It was a disappointing display from Chelsea against the visiting Aston Villa. The side was trailing 2-1 to the Villans until the 85th minute but two goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 meant all three points for the titleholders. However,
that was not the case as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ciaran-Clark-c9247 scored the first goal of his career to snatch two points away from Chelsea. The draw means that Chelsea has dropped to fifth position, a point behind fourth Tottenham Hotspur and six behind Manchester United, who still
have a match to play.
In the post match interview, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he needs new faces at the back to bolster his weakened defence owing to the prolonged injury of centre-back Alex.
“We need some players. We have to look at the condition of Alex when he comes back this week from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858. Bruma played very well, but without Alex and Ivanovic we lose energy on the high ball and we conceded the second goal for this reason. The third was
different because we needed to have more attention in the box,” claimed the Chelsea manager.
The manager was disappointed with the result as the draw has further loosened their grip from the title, with Manchester United going all guns blazing towards their 19th English title.
“I am disappointed because when we deserve to win you need to win. It’s our fault because we were not able to maintain concentration until the end. The last goal was a mistake because we conceded an easy cross and we didn’t mark in the box,” claimed the
former AC Milan boss.
However, the manager claimed that his side is still in the title race and anything can happen in one of the most bizarre premier league season in years. He claimed that Manchester United would have to win against Blackpool to stand a real chance. Any points
dropped would mean United would still have to fight for it, as they still have to face Chelsea twice this season. Ancelotti added that they would have to win against the Red Devils in both fixtures to put a brake on their undefeated streak and failure to do
so would mean it is all over.
