The Paris Saint-Germain coach feels that the reigning Italian champions could surprise everyone in the Champions League this season
The 53-year-old has massive respect for the Old Lady and has tipped them to perform well in Europe this season.
Juventus managed to pip the two Milan clubs for the Serie A title last season and they did so in a very convincing manner, without losing a single match in the campaign.
And the way they played throughout the season has impressed Carlo Ancelotti.
The Parisiens coach, who was in charge of the Old Lady from 1999 to 2001, has tipped his former side to win the prestigious European club competition.
While talking to reporters, the former Italy international stated that Juventus will be the team to beat in the Champions League this season. The Serie A outfit played with a great game plan last season, and Ancelotti believes that it was their intensity
and speed of the game that made them unbeatable in Italy last season.
The PSG coach added that if Juventus play with same determination and confidence in Europe this season, it would be hard for any team to stop them from claiming their third European title.
“Juventus could surprise in Europe. They have a game plan which is based on speed and intensity.”
However, Juventus were only playing one competition last season and Ancelotti feels that the added burden of playing in a massive competition like Champions League would surely test them.
“But they also won last season because they only had one tournament to focus on. It will be different with the Champions League.”
The former Milan manager stated that the Old Lady really impressed him last season and credit for their success in the previous season goes to the manager, president of the club, and to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 international, Andrea Pirlo.
“Nevertheless, Juventus impressed me last season and that was down to three men in particular – boss Antonio Conte, Andrea Pirlo and President Andrea Agnelli. I got to know Agnelli when I was at Juventus and I knew he would become a great club director.”
Carlo Ancelotti’s Paris Saint-Germain will compete against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, Dynamo Kyiv and Dinamo Zagreb in the group stages of the Champions League.
