Carlo Ancelotti uncertain about Blues bad run after 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers
Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti said he was going to remain cautious even though the Blues secured a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last night, at Stamford Bridge. He insisted it would take some more time to determine whether his
side had actually gotten over their recent slump, instead of just the recent victory.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 had gone six games without a win and had slipped from top of the English Premier League to fourth place. This was said to be their worse run in years and the defending champions were ruled out of contention for the top
four,  this season.
However, Chelsea returned to winning ways last night when they beat Bolton with a goal from winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838. The controversial goal came in the second half and gave the Blues a much needed win, which saw them climb to fourth
place in the table above Tottenham Hotspur.
Most Bolton supporters and some pundits argued the goal was offside; http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sam-Ricketts-c32291 in the build up to the goal, which was a terrific half strike by the French international.
The Italian manager was not as pleased with the team’s performance as he was with the win. Nonetheless, he was somewhat relieved that his side had managed a win after such a turbulent period. The bad run of form had even prompted
rumours of Ancelotti’s stay at Stamford Bridge being cut short.
Ancelotti said, “We needed to change the atmosphere and change the trend, and the goal was a weight off our shoulders We will have to wait to find out if we have turned the corner, because we are still not in our best condition,
confidence or atmosphere, but this was an important step.”
The former AC Milan coach took a look at the previous season, where he had led the Blues to their first ever double; the English Premier League and the FA Cup. He mentioned how his side needed to be motivated and fearless if they
wanted to recreate their success.

He continued, “The players have had a fantastic year, and it should give them fantastic memories, so it was important to round off 2010 with a victory. If they looked afraid tonight, this is normal because there was a lot of pressure on them, but if you are
a bit nervous you can have extra motivation.”
Ancelotti, was confident about the future and while speaking about the goal, said he was not concerned whether it was offside or not. He said, “We can improve, we have to improve and I hope 2011 will be the same as 2010. I don't
know if the goal was offside and I am not interested.”
