Carlo Prater replaced by injured Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC 142; ready to face Erick Silva – UFC News
The hopeful Afghan mixed martial art (MMA) fighter Siyar Bahadurzada has been taken out of UFC 142 due to an injury. He has been replaced by the Brazilian MMA fighter Carlo Prater. Now as per the new schedule, Prater will face
Bahadurzada’s opponent Erick Silva on January 14, 2012.
According to reports from the UFC, when Bahadurzada was taken off the UFC 142 event, Prater was eager to step in as his replacement and succeeded. UFC confirmed the news of his replacement on December 16, 2011. The replacement
MMA fighter, Prater, has been a winning run recently. He has secured four straight wins in between February 2011 to September 2011. Prater, the 30-year-old Brazilian MMA fighter will make his UFC debut at UFC 142 against Silva.
UFC matchmakers were eager to bring Prater on the UFC list of fighters and they wasted no time in convincing the UFC officials make the agreement between Prater. By becoming a replacement fighter, Prater will make his UFC debut
at UFC 142, Silva, will be fighting in his second UFC bout in January 2012. He made his UFC debut in August 2011 at UFC 134 where he defeated Luis Ramos in the first round technical knockout (TKO).
For Prater, this will be a new story in his MMA career. He started his career as a welterweight fighter but later in his career, switched his weight class and entered the lightweight category. At UFC 142 he will be facing Silva
in the welterweight bout. With Prater making his entry into the UFC circuit, he would be willing to make an impact. He started his professional career in 2002 and has won twenty-nine bouts in his career with ten losses and a single fight ending in a draw.
On the other hand, Silva entered into the MMA ring for the first time in June 2005 with a successful debut. He has won thirteen bouts in his career with a single loss. Both the fighters would be looking forward for a win at UFC
142 where Prater would be motivated to get a chance to step in the UFC ring for the first time in his career.
