Carlos Boozer trades scenarios that would work for the Chicago Bulls – NBA Feature
(Part 2)
Rudy g*y
The 6 foot 8 small forward of the Memphis Grizzlies, Rudy g*y had a good last season with his team, as he tallied score with an average of 19.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. However, failed to play the entire regular-season,
played 54 games in total and in his absence the Grizzlies did well.
So bearing that fact in mind, there is a possibility that the Grizzlies could trade him away, but with Zach Randolph already in their line-up, it would be really hard for the Grizzlies to consider signing Boozer. Even if the Grizzlies
acquire Boozer for g*y, he would be a pricey article off the bench.
Considering the above mentioned facts, this deal seems to take place after 2011-12 season rather than in the next season. This deal also seems difficult because g*y’s contract is more high-priced than Boozer, so either the Chicago
Bulls had to throw in some cash with Carlos or trade another player with him.
However, if the Bulls be able to get their hands on g*y, their roster will become one of the dynamic line-up in the league.
Nene Hilario
Another option for the Bulls for the power forward position would be Denver Nuggets Brazilian Beast Nene Hilario. Although Nene’s career figures (12.3 points a game) are below Boozer, but he had a pretty good last season with the
Nuggets, in which he scored with an average of 14.5 points, 7.6 boards and 2.0 assists per game.
In addition to that Hilario’s contract is cheaper than Boozer, so bringing him in the line-up would be rather easy for the Bulls as compared to the first two options. Because apart from a cheaper contract and less scoring average,
Denver also have financial depth that’ll allow them to acquire a $13.5 million Boozer, whose experience would be valuable for their young line-up.
The Nuggets achieved a 50-32 record that allowed them to gain the control of the fifth spot in the Western Conference, so with Boozer in their side it wouldn’t be difficult for them to book a place in the next playoffs once again.
Arron Afflalo
An added option that the Bulls could get from the Nuggets is their 6 foot 5 shooting guard Arron Afflalo, who has a decent scoring average in the last season with Denver. Afflalo scored 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists
per game.
However, the problem arises when we look at the contract price of Afflalo, which is $2.9 million way below than Boozer. So it would be hard to make a move like this unless the Bulls consider landing both Afflalo and Hilario in
their line-up by trading away Boozer with some cash.
Otherwise the trade scenario would become more complex, as Nuggets could re-sign Afflalo and then trade him to the Bulls in order to provide some indemnity to Chicago on making the switch.
However, even if the Nuggets re-sign the 25 year old, he wouldn’t be going to touch the $10 million mark in terms of salary, considering the fact what owners are demanding that the players’ salaries should be cut down in the new
Collective Bargaining Agreement.
To complete the trade the Bulls then would be required to throw in a player like Al Harington with a draft pick. At the moment this seems to be the best way the Bulls could land a cheap contract like Afflalo in their line-up.
