Carlos Condit believes GSP made the right choice by choosing to train with Dan Hardy – UFC Special
Exciting or fear, whatever you may call it, Carlos Condit has given Georges St-Pierre thumbs up for choosing to train with Dan Hardy. The interim welterweight titlist believes Hardy’s presence in GSP’s camp can further increase the chances of the welterweight
titlist winning the showdown, which will be held this Saturday, November 17, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
Hardy and GSP are preparing for the fight at the Tristar gym in Montreal. Both fighters first teamed up back in October 2011 when St-Pierre was scheduled to face Condit at UFC 137. However, since GSP suffered graved knee injury, the fight was postponed.
GSP could never fight Condit as his injuries kept coming back until now. The ‘Rush’ is now all ready and in the right form to take on Condit.
“Interesting choice, I didn't know that,” said Condit in an interview with MMAMania.com, when he was told of Dan Hardy’s presence at Tristar gym to train with GSP. “It's interesting. Hey, he's a good kickboxer and a pretty good all around fighter and you
know his last couple fights he looked really good.”
Condit will defend his interim title against GSP this Saturday. A win could be a career boost for the interim champion while a loss would push him back in his career. However, the fight is mainly important for GSP, as he needs to prove he still is an elite
fighter after 18 months of temporary retirement.
UFC 154 has already garnered enough fans’ interest to make it a success. GSP’s comeback is being welcomed by members of the fraternity, since they all see him as a top notch fighter. Anderson Silva, middleweight champion, will also be in the arena to see
GSP take on Condit.
Silva has already announced that GSP is the only fighter out there who can give him a tough fight. Therefore, the Brazilian champion is looking forward to a showdown scheduled with ‘The Rush’ once he is victorious in his comeback bout. It should be noted
here that GSP has yet not spoken of a fight against Silva, as he believes it is important for him to first prove his mettle in the cage against Condit and then sort out things.
