Carlos Condit believes pressure will make Georges St-Pierre fall – UFC News
While everyone believes Carlos Condit would be an easy hunt for Georges St-Pierre, the former believes otherwise. According to Condit, Georges St-Pierre will fight in front of his fans, friends and family, which will put him under pressure.
“I feel like I just have the ability to threaten from any position, whether we're standing or the fight is on the ground,” added Condit in his recent interview. “I try to finish from my back if I get put there, which I think is a big difference from some
of the contenders he's fought in the past.”
Condit currently stands with 28 wins and 5 losses in MMA, and 5 wins and 1 loss in UFC, while Georges St-Pierre stands with 22 wins and 2 losses in MMA and 16 wins and 2 losses in UFC. Both fighters will meet tomorrow at UFC 154 in Montreal.
“I'm going to test him on all aspects, on all fronts. I'm going to take the fight to him and try to see whatever opportunity I can to finish the fight,” Condit added.
For now, Condit is confident that he can win against GSP, even though others believe it is a fight for GSP. The latter will be making his ring return after 19 months of temporary retirement due to a grave knee injury. However, according to GSP’s coach, the
fighter is now in the best of his forms and will contest against Condit better than he ever did.
Even GSP has promised his fans that they will see a new GSP in the cage tomorrow. According to the French-Canadian fighter, he will now try to knockout his opponents more often, as he knows fans usually take him as a boring fighter due to his ways of winning
fights through decision.
A win would take GSP to a super-fight against Anderson Silva, UFC middleweight champion, while a loss would push him back in his career. Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has already selected May as the month for the fight between
Silva and GSP, if Georges St-Pierre is able to defeat Carlos Condit and retain his welterweight title.
