Carlos Delfino leads as the Milwaukee Bucks defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 102-78
On Monday night, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 78-102 at the Bradley Centre. Carlos Delfino played the major role in Bucks victory as he scored 26 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks. Every player
chipped at the right time for the Bucks, who not only lost their last game to the Indiana Pacers but were also facing some injuries.
Bucks led the first quarter 17-22 courtesy Brandon Jennings. He scored 11 points out of Bucks 22. Blake Griffin made 5 points for the Clippers.
In second section Baron Davis took the responsibility and led the Clippers’ attack, he made 11 points which enabled Clippers to stay ahead of Bucks 28-25 in the second section’s play. Both teams played competitively, especially
Clippers who really picked up the pace of their attack. But at the end of the second section Bucks led the grand total by 2 points 45-47.
Bucks dominated the third segment 20-24, but they made enough mistakes to keep the Clippers close. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored 6 and Brandon Jennings contributed 7 points for the Bucks. By the end of the third segment Bucks
were leading by 6 points 65-71.
At the start of the fourth part a turnover possession allowed Clippers to pull within 67-71. But the turning point came when Delfino charged and made two 3-pointers, John Salmons another and then Delfino hit another in a 14-1 run
that put Bucks in a comfortable position 68-85. After wards there was no looking back for the Bucks as they got a good lead to build on. Bucks won by a huge margin of 24 points over Clippers.
Delfino made a career-high seven 3-pointers. "It's huge," Delfino said. "When we play together, we're a different team, we can make a run."
Bucks’ Salmons scored 16 points and leveled his career-high with 12 assists, Jennings added 20 points and matched his best performance since recurring from surgical treatment.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute ended up with 13 points and 10 rebounds. "We keep saying we need to make this push and it's right now," Mbah a Moute said. "Tonight was one of the best night's we've played in a while." Bucks coach Scott
Skiles said Mbah a Moute did a splendid work to slow down Clippers' star Griffin, who still ended with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
Davis was the loser high with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. His teammate Randy Foye made 16 points. Clippers failed again in the final part of the game.
"The fourth quarters kill us. When the game gets a little tight we don't execute as well," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "There is no miracle pill for it. There is no quick answer. It's just staying together."
Next up, the Clippers will meet the Minnesota Timberwolves as the Bucks will face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
