in Dead Last in NL Central? He only Makes 13million a year (only lol), but that is not a prohibitive salary. I mean, It seems every team in a race could use a QUALITY Right handed bat (including my Yankees), why not Lee?

280-300 hitter, 30HR, 100rbi a year... Just turned 30ish i think, Tons of Productivity ahead of him, not an awful outfielder. Why has his name not come up in trade rumors?

  1. guess who's coming to the yankees?

  2. I agree with Chipmaker, he deserves the 10 points and he is completely correct about his contract.  I am waiting to see if Jason Bay gets traded or has to sit through yet another season of rumors only to get stuck a Pirate for life.

  3. Lee is making $13M this year. His contract, however, goes through 2012, at $18.5M for each of the next four seasons (when he'll be 33-36 years old), and gives him full no-trade rights through 2010.

Not that he couldn't be dealt, but it'd be a complex deal, there's a lot of money involved, and Lee would need to approve it.

  4. he is 32 but i think its is contract he signed 6yrs, 100million......07 was payed 11mil....this year 12mil......and the last 4 years are 18.5mil per year. his still owed 74mil over the next 4 years not to many teams want to take on those big contracts....

  5. "...not an awful outfielder."  I disagree, he's (as Ken Hawk Harrilson says) "real bad!"  Though he would be an awesome DH in the AL.

As to answer your question, I think the Astros don't understand they are not out of it.  Personally I'd take Lee back on the White Sox any day of the week and make him the DH.

  6. hometown guy who took less to go there. he probaly has a no trade clause. he also in his second year of a seven year contract.

  7. i would imagine it's because the astros have no intention of moving him...it has been an extremely disappointing season for them, but they still have quite a bit of talent and probably feel like they can contend in the near future, which is why they would like to hang on to a bat like lee's

  8. The asking price would be too high even if they considered it.
