Carlos Molina believes Amir Khan made a mistake by choosing to fight him – Boxing News
Unbeaten American fighter Carlos Molina believes former WBA and IBF unified champion Amir Khan made a mistake by choosing to fight him. Molina, who currently stands with 17 wins, 1 tie and 7 knockouts in his portfolio, has managed to run his unbeaten streak
to date. He will be facing Khan on December 15, hoping to defeat the Briton favourite.
Both fighters were present at a press conference yesterday, just when Molina started off by saying Khan committed a blunder by selecting him as his opponent.
“Come December 15 I am getting ready for an all-out war with Amir Khan,” asserted Molina. “I want to thank him for giving me the opportunity but he made a big mistake. I’m fighting here in my hometown this is my coming out party. The only outcome I see is
me remaining undefeated.”
Both fighters will lock horns at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. While Molina believes Khan would be helpless in the ring, the latter is of the view that he would not only win but will revive his career.
Khan, who suffered a knockout defeat at the hands of Danny Garcia earlier this year, knows how important it is for him to collect a win. With two consecutive losses in his portfolio, one against Lamont Peterson and the other against Danny Garcia, Khan is
on the verge of making his career a write-off. He desperately needs to defeat Molina in a dominating way in order to establish himself as an elite fighter once again.
“This is a comeback fight for me, comeback fights are always tough. This fight is about excitement. Molina is a tough guy who throws a lot of shots we have a similar style that’s what will make it exciting. Come December 15 you will see fireworks and a great
fight,” said Khan, who now stands with 26 wins, 3 losses and 18 knockouts in his portfolio.
The fight is important for both the fighters. A win for Khan would give him the opportunity to stand tall once again in his division. On the other hand, a win for Molina would mean the addition of yet another top-notch fighter in his ‘list of the fallen’.
