  1. monzon would not be strong enough to beat foster.

monzon is one of the top 3 middleweights of all time, but foster is one of the top 3 or 4 175 pounders of all time, and so foster does to monzon what monzon did to 147 pound king jose napoles and stops carlos at the halfway stage of the bout.

as far as monzon taking on frazier, then it's a complete mismatch.........frazier in 2 rounds.

  2. Monzon probably could have beaten many top light heavyweights, but not Foster. Foster dominated the light heavyweight division and would have destroyed Monzon.

As far as him beating Frazier, that would not have happened even in his dreams.

  3. Make no mistake about it, Carlos Monzon was a great middleweight and many believe he was the greatest of all time with his great height, reach, great jab, and pulverizing right hand.  He did not lose something like his last 9 years of his pro career and had a record of 87-3-9.  A fight with him against Hagler would have made for a great dream fight.  Had he moved up in weight to light heavyweight, it would have been quite an adjustment and I do believe he could have beaten probably most of the contenders.  But Foster was something else entirely and would probably be too much for even the great Monzon to handle.  I believe Monzon would box Foster very effectively but would be overpowered and knocked to the canvas a couple of times before the referee halted the fight in the 9th round.  Joe Frazier is out of the question as he's too big and powerful.  Frazier would knock him out early.

  4. Bob Foster would be biting off a little more than he could chew I think. Joe Frazier would be suicide! (Did you actually say Joe Frazier?)

  5. Monzon had the body type to move up to light heavy. If he was fighting in a weak era he may have been able to win a title.

However like others have posted, Bob Foster would be too much. He's at the very least the 3rd best 175 pound fighter of all time. Some would have him rated at #1.

  6. No way, Foster would coldcock him, and Frazier, oh well, call in the paramedics.
