Mexican international, Carlos Salcido, has predicted an even Gold Cup final against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Honduras-c2918 while USA came through by
beating http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Panama-c2978. The two teams would contest the final of the competition on Saturday, June 25 at the Rose Bowl.
Salcido mentioned that it would be a huge occasion for both the teams and no player from either side can relax. He urged his teammates to stay composed and maintain the same levels of concentration as they have been exhibiting throughout the tournament.
He also warned his team against complacency and wished to lift the title on Saturday.
The 31-year-old further added, "No, I don't think so.  The U.S. is a great team, very compact with great players. They haven't been playing as well as I think their fans are used to seeing them play, but this is a final we're talking about. We know how complex
it is to play against them. I just hope Saturday's a great day for Mexico."
Salcido would start the final on the bench after the player complained of a foot injury during the game against Honduras. The medical team revealed a swelling on the defender’s foot, putting his participation in doubt for the final. The player, on the other
hand, confirmed that he would be unfortunate enough to start from the bench as a precautionary measure.
He concluded by saying, "You go through the different stages and teams get tougher. They're not willing to give you anything, so the games get tougher. But I think the team's been getting better as we go on, too."
Salcido currently plays for the English Premier League side Fulham and has 23 league appearances under his belt since joining the Cottagers in 2010. He previously represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven from 2006 to 2010 and netted three goals from his 121 league appearances.
The defender made his Mexico debut in 2004 and has 90 appearances to date, bagging six goals in return.
