Carlos Tevez admits suffering after World Cup
The Argentinean striker, Carlos Tevez confesses that he lacks the inspiration needed to play a new season. The player was disappointed by his national side’s quarter final exit from the World Cup, when Germany thwarted Argentina 4-0. Tevez scored two goals
in the World cup, including a superb out of the box strike.
The former Manchester United man was in red hot form when he joined Manchester City last season, and scored 23 goals in the Premier League last season. Tevez was the inspiration behind City’s best ever fifth place finish in the Premier League, but could’ve
done better. City lost a must win bout against Tottenham Hotspurs in the dying fixtures of the league, and had to settle for the fifth spot.
Tevez also had a good World Cup, scoring twice in 5 matches. However, the forward admitted that following the disappointment of the World Cup, he doesn’t seem to find the motivation needed for the new season. The player was disgusted by the way the Argentinean
FA treated the players following the exit. The striker stated that the team returned to Argentina the following morning after the defeat to Germany.
The forward added that the player flew in Economy class instead of business, and were put together in the bottom of the plane. Tevez elaborated that they were treated “as we were chickens”, which was disrespectful, and stated that they didn’t deserve such
treatment from AFA. The 26-year-old stated that Argentina played some impressive games in the tournament, and were entertaining in South Africa.
Tevez stated that he is having a hard time motivating himself, since winning the World Cup was his goal. A disappointing World Cup campaign has led to Tevez admitting, for the first time in his career, he is having a hard time motivating himself.
Carlos Tevez joined the Eastlands after two successful years with Manchester United, and was content with playing for City. Tevez stated that he spent two successful years with the Red Devils and enjoyed his time with them, but it was his best choice to
leave the club and sign for City.
The player claimed that his era with the Red Devils was over. The player stated that he had no regrets about leaving the Red Devils. The player was impressive in his time with United, as the player won two premier league titles as well the UEFA Champions
league title in 2008.
Tevez had to leave United season before last owing to mega controversies, when he inked a new deal with rivals Manchester City, but enjoyed one of his best seasons. The player scored 29 goals in all competitions last season, and was phenomenal at his new
club. The player however couldn’t win a single trophy last season, but proved to be a major thorn in Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans last season.
Now the player is aiming to take City to new heights, as they are dubbed as 3rdfavourites for winning the league this time around. City won the league last time in l1968, and would be looking to win end their title drought this time around. With
players like Yaya Toure, David Silva, Jerome Boateng and Aleksander Kolarov joining the side this year, City stands a strong chance of winning the league.
The 26-year-old claimed that City is still a small team compared to United, but is rapidly growing. City played a good season last year, but failed to qualify for the Champions league. The player stated that joining Manchester City was perhaps the best decision
he made, and is really happy with his current club.
“I’ve never regretted signing for Manchester City,” stated the Argentinean forward Carlos Tevez. Tevez earlier stated that he would want to make a rocketing start to the season and he has done so. While his recent locker room bust up with his manager ignited
speculations about him remaining at Eastlands, the player was even thinking about retiring from football itself when he admitted that he was tired of the footballing celebrity lifestyle.
Nonetheless he is the keystone Roberto Mancini’s plans to gain the Premier League title this season and therefore he awarded the player some rest when he complained about the workload put on him. Now he will be expected to return for the Manchester United
