Carlos Tevez not worried about fans’ response at Old Trafford
Manchester City talismanic skipper and former player of Manchester United, Carlos Tevez has said that he would not care about the response of Old Trafford fans when he returns to his old ground for the Manchester derby.
Carlos Tevez was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson when he scored a winning goal with West Ham United at Old Trafford that saved the Hammers from being relegated out of the Barclays Premier League.
He was also part of the Manchester United squad which won Premier League and Champions League titles in 2008.
Carlos Tevez, who scored 19 goals for Manchester United in 63 League matches, is now an inspirational figure at Manchester City. The Argentinean has already netted 20 goals for the Eastlanders in the on-going 2010-11 season.
The City captain, who scored a first half hat-trick recently against West Bromwich Albion, is expected to lead Manchester City against his former club.
He said, “I don't care about people booing me at Old Trafford. It doesn't worry me and I'm not worried about going there. The booing happened a lot last year, but I understand. As a supporter, you defend your club and I am on the opposing team now. Manchester
United fans can never say I didn't give my all during the time I was there.
Maybe many supporters still don't understand the reason I left. I am a professional footballer and being booed when I am on the field is a price I have to pay sometimes. But it won't affect me at all. Derby games are always beautiful. I enjoyed them in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, they are extra-special.”
Moreover, the Manchester derby has been tipped to have a huge impact on the title race, as there is only a five-point difference between the two sides.
Carlos Tevez, who recently became the second player in the Premier League history to score a hat-trick on his birthday, also claimed that the title race is once again open after Manchester United suffered their first defeat of the season against Wolverhampton
Wanderers.
