Carlos Vela and Andres Guardado were a source of pride for their country by reaping individual awards in the Spanish Leagues for the 2011-2012 season.
Both the Mexicans were in scintillating form for their respective clubs, and were rightly rewarded for their services to the Spanish League.
Guardado was crowned the league’s top attacking midfielder for the 2011-2012 season by the Liga Professional de Futbol and was really proud at receiving the accolade.
Guardado made 33 league appearances and helped his side, Deportivo La Coruna, achieve promotion from the Segunda Division to La Liga by notching 11 goals, from a midfield position, over the season.
Guardado also turned provider for his team-mates on 12 occasions in the league. These were by far Guardado’s best on-paper statistics, since his arrival from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Atlas-c38538 in 2007.
“It’s always nice, it’s flattering,” Guardado told press in accepting the award. “It’s always a proud moment to have your work recognized. In general terms as an individual and also in the collective sense, it was spectacular in every sense.”

The Mexican helped the Basque country side by scoring a team high, 12 goals, over the course of the season for the Light Blues. Vela also managed to provide 8 assists in the league.
