Carlos Zambrano helps Miami Marlin steal 4-0 victory from Houston Astros – MLB Update
Carlos Zambrano was the star of the night as he showed some really awesome pitching to help the Miami Marlins snatch a victory 4-0 from Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on May 7, 2012.
Carlos after a very long time shut-out the game. He shut the last game against San Francisco on Sept. 25, 2009. He pitched nine innings and conceded only three hits and did not give up any score where as the strike pitcher from the Astros, Wandy Rodriguez
pitched eight innings, conceded six hits and gave up four runs.
The three time All-Star, Carlos has proved to be good trade off form the Cubs and is having a good season so far. When Zambrano joined the team, many fans and experts doubted that the pitcher still had the competitive drive that the team was looking for.
However, he has proven everyone wrong as he put in a brilliant performance against the Astros.
''So many people gave up on him for one reason or another,'' Buck said. ''But since he's walked in here, he's been nothing but awesome from every way you can think of it ... to see him pitch so well and benefit on the field is cool because he's been through
a lot, he's endured a lot and he's kind of a favourite in this clubhouse.''
Carlos did not get upset in the time period when he was ejected from the game and afterwards suspended. He got his hopes back and came back into the game.
''Now I'm pitching smiling because God is in my heart,'' he said. ''When God is in your heart ... nothing is frustrating, nothing can bother you.''
Carlos was assisted by Giancarlo Stanton who continues his impressive hitting for the last ten games as he scored a two-run homer which took the score 2-0. Afterwards in the fifth inning came John Buck who scored a home-run into the stands lifting the score
3-0. Last came Hanley Ramirez in the ninth and scored a solo home-run making the score 4-0.
Miami Marlins will now be facing the Houston Astros in their second game of a three match series as the Astros will try to level the series and Marlins will try to extend their lead.
