Carlota Ciganda has a roller-coaster ride on the LET
Carlota Ciganda is an upcoming player who has emerged as a leading contender for the Rolex Rookie of the Year award this year. She recently shared her views about the LET and the recent tournaments that she has played in.
Ciganda is very excited to be on the Tour. She said that she is enjoying her time on LET. The 22-year-old Spanish player is looking forward to making some good friends on the pro circuit.
Talking about the transition from amateur to a professional career, she said that it went smoothly, without much trouble.
She found the environment to be very conductive to play good golf. Already she is friends with many players whom she met during various LET tournaments.
The tournaments are another high point in Ciganda’s opinion. She said that her game has improved tremendously since she started to play in LET’s tournaments. This is something she appreciates about pro golf.
When asked about her favourite events so far, she invariable named The Deloitte Ladies Open. This is no surprise as Ciganda bagged her first professional win at the event.
The UniCredit Ladies German Open is also her favourite event so far. She secured the 7th position in the event.
Carlota Ciganda is very vocal in appreciating the management of the LET tournaments. She said that she was treated very well in all the events. This is something that many players choose to ignore.
Like a number of young players, she is grateful for the experience she gathered while playing against the top stars of LET.
Ciganda is particularly impressed by Laura Davies. She said that Davies is a phenomenal player with excellent golf skills.
Her overall impression of the LET has been very positive. This attitude will take her a long way. The pressure of international golf easily gets on the players’ nerves. The only way to counter the pressure is to enjoy the game.
When asked about her goal, Ciganda said that her immediate goal is to win the Rolex Rookie of the Year. Given her performance so far, the goal seems to be in her grasp.
