Carlton Cole Insists His Future Is With West Ham
The 26 year old West Ham striker, Carlton Cole has pledged his future to West Ham. Cole has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Stoke City, but the striker has denied any interest from his side, saying he would like to remain at his current club, West Ham.
The England international told reporters when asked if he would be staying with the Hammers, “Yeah I don't see why not. Obviously there are a lot of transfer rumors with people moving here and there, but I see myself at West Ham and I'm focused on West Ham and that's all that needs to be said.”
The striker went on to say, “I'm happy where I am. It's going to take a lot for me to move and as long as I'm wanted here I can see my future here. I have got nowhere I'd rather be than West Ham at the moment because West Ham gave me my chance and I want to correct last season.”
He disregarded any talk of going to Liverpool, or any other club for that matter, “There's been no contact (from Liverpool), it's all paper talk. Nothing can turn my head and I'm fully focused, I'm fully fit and raring to go and I just want to put a good shift in.”
Even though, at the moment it would have made sense for Cole to want to leave, considering how things are bad at West Ham, but the striker has no intentions of doing that. Players like Joe Cole and Cecs Fabregas and could learn a thing or two about loyalty from Cole.
Cole, who was injured last season revealed how he hoped he stayed fit and contributed to West Ham. West Ham lost 3-0 to Aston Villa in their first fixture of the new Premier League season, and prepare to take on Bolton this weekend, where they will hope to do better. Cole said, “I was focusing on my injury all through the summer and I've come back stronger - hopefully I can just do the job for West Ham and keep fit.”
