ok. who was watching the footy last night? Carlton vs. Hawthon? Buddy got is 100 goals (good for him) but did you see how close Fevola was?! they were all trying soooooo hard to stop him from getting his 100! they were putting everyone in the backline and there was about 3 men on him. Even the commentators called it "miserable." Who agrees that Hawthon played miserably (by doing everything they could to stop Fevola from getting 100) last night?

  1. if youre gonna blame someone, blame carlton

you shouldnt be pointing at hawthorn

  2. **I agree with you.  I think it's actually a bit sad.  You never want to see your opposition score but when Hawthorn were so far ahead and had absolutely nothing to lose, it wasn't good to see.

Could you imagine the Hawthorn supporters today if Carlton had done the same thing to Buddy when he was sitting on 99 to prevent him from getting to 100.**

  3. Its just football...you try and stop the opposition getting goals (obviously though a moot point at that period of the game given they were 12 goals behind) Its Fevs problem in the end that he left it till the second half to get seven goals...he had his chances in the first half (that horribly spray from the left pocket a prime example) clearly so he can heap some of the blame on himself. Again, its not Hawthorns perogative that he should have scored 100 goals.

  4. ye, probably was misrable

but i guess they may have wanted buddy to be the only one to reach 100...

although, fev did get a few other chances

but even though it probably was a misrable thing to do,

and this coming from me, an essendon supporter

they still did it, and thats just how it was

  5. omg, everyone has to fknn get over this

if it was your team, you wouldnt be saying anything like this

the fact of the matter is, YOU DONT TRY 2 LET TEH OPPOSITION GET A GOAL!

hawthorn new that they wer going 2 try adn kick it to fev, so they all manned up on him

BUT THATS WHAT PEOPLE DO TO BUDDY AS WELL!

fev still shoulda been able 2 get the goal. that happens in every game, poeple doubleteam, tripleteam, quadriple team! players to stop getting goals

  6. its not hawks is fault its that Sh*t fclarkson he thinks hes good stoping fev from gettignt he 100

  7. SO SAD!

  8. I'm not a Carlton fan but I agree

    with you.

Hawthorn are a mob of tossers and

I hope they don't win another game this

    season.

They should have let Fevola kick that

last goal he needed. They were streets ahead

    on the scoreboard.

  9. I was watching it last night and I am a Hawthorn supporter, in my opinion you should earn every goal in a game of footy and if we just 'gave' it to Fev then he wouldn't have even been worthy of the 100. I'm sure even Fev wouldn't want it handed to him on a platter, he will want to come back next season and give it another shot. Roughead was the only player that dropped back and he left in under 45 seconds which the commentators said was a great act of sportsmanship, Buddy earned his 100 even when Carlton were double and triple teaming him so stop complaining about how the Hawks handled last nights game because we played a fantastic game, anything but miserable.

  10. so everything the commentators say is correct?

yeah, it may have been a bit harsh on him, but dont forget the chances he has MISSED during that game, and the whole season!

Buddy's team mates just wanted to have the night to honor Buddy...they wont give away a goal for the sake of giving away a goal!

yeah, it may have been a little hard on fev, but there is always next year...where I think that Carlton may start getting back into september action.

  11. That's their job.  To stop the other team playing well.  To stop them getting accolades.  To make their own team stand out.  In years to come there will only be so many players who have kicked 100 in a season.  The Hawthorn team had a duty to their player to help Buddy stand alone on that list - otherwise it's like a 'joint premiership' - not as real.

Who knows - Fev getting his 100 could be the spark that puts strength back into the Carlton Football Club and costs Hawthorn a flag next year.  When an opponent is down - you keep them down ... that's footy, that's any sport - particularly professional sport.

  12. Hawks are not miserable and they started with 1 defender playing on Fev and when he started booting goals in the second half  they needed to play 2 or 3 on him, just like every team does to Buddy all game every game. And do you really think the Hawks wanted to let Fev win the Coleman over Buddy, it was still very close at that stage of the match.
