Carly Booth ready for Ricoh Women’s British Open
Carly Booth is among the many players who are excited about the upcoming Ricoh Women’s British Open. However, being one of the local stars of the game, she is in for a real treat by fans and family.
The tournament starts on September 13 and will continue for four days. The second last day is a Saturday that has been branded as a Best of Britain day. This day will celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the recent successful Olympics held in London.
On that day, the players are asked to wear British colours - red, white and blue - to celebrate the best of the British sportsmanship. The spectators are also encouraged to follow suit. Various entertainments have been arranged by the management.
Carly Booth is very excited and looking forward to the Ricoh Women’s British Open. At the age of twenty years, she has built up a reputation of excellence and is readily climbing the LET rankings.
The Royal Liverpool Golf Club, where the Women’s British Open will be played, is a sort of a home territory for the young Booth. Both her parents have fond memories of the area and she grew listening to stories of area that her father and mother told.
Her father Wally has special connection to the area. He used to work as a minder for the famous Beatles and had quite a firm relationship with the band.
He was offered a more important role by the band, but declined because of all the travelling involved.
Recalling some of the stories her father told her, Booth said, “Dad has so many stories to tell of that time. When he was working on the door Cilla Black was working in the cloakroom hanging up everyone’s coats!”
Carly Booth will have a huge support as family and friends will be on hand to boost her morale. Her mother hails from Liverpool and still has family near the Royal Liverpool Club.
Ricoh Women’s British Open has amassed a great deal of buzz because of its standing on the LET calendar. Fans are now eager to see their favourite stars in action and enjoy a bit of fun on the golf course.
