Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, and Martell Webster: NBA’s noticeable players from 6th April games
As the regular season comes to an end, the games being played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) become increasingly dramatic. As 12 teams came face to face on the basketball court on 6th April, the environment intensified, giving the
fans goose bumps as they anticipated the outcome. Here is an overview of some of the most noticeable player performances from the games that took place on Wednesday:
Anthony leading Knicks to 5th straight win
Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points to lead the New York Knicks to their fifth straight victory to go along with 11 rebounds in 37 minutes of action. The player was terrific from the three-pointer range and posted five three-pointers in the win. The All-Star
forward played good defence, avoiding giving away the ball to the opposition and by doing so had zero turnovers. He also clinched a potential three-pointer that gave his team an edge over the opposition when they had covered the deficit in the final quarter.
Bayless’ scoring 28
Jerryd Bayless played with the recent surge he had in the previous four games. Perhaps Jose Calderon’s injury has put him with more points enabling the player to average 24 points in the span of those four games. The player scooped out 28 points and grabbed
three rebounds in 30 plus minutes. The reserve finished on a 10 for 18 shooting from the field, and also pinned two three-pointers in the loss against Cleveland Cavaliers.
James - seventh season 2,000 points
LeBron James’ big night was spoiled by the Milwaukee Bucks who crushed the Miami Heat to a 90-85 loss at home. At 26, King James became the youngest player ever to score 2,000 points for the seventh consecutive season. He is now the eighth player who has
scored this number seven seasons in a row, all the other seven players already being Hall of Famers. The NBA’s two times reigning MVP, scored game high 29 points and dished out eight assists, also pinning 3 of 7 three-pointers in over 39 minutes of action.
Bucks from the free throw line
The Milwaukee Bucks took a big stride down the free throw line to trample the Miami Heat. They were successful in netting all 15 of them, giving them a definite advantage over the opposition. Corey Maggette pushed all 6 of 6 free throws and scored 14 points
in the win.
Gortat’s sunny performance
Marcin Gortat shined for the Phoenix Suns. The player led his team with 20 points and 16 rebounds on an 8 for 14 shooting from the field. The player also posted 4 of 6 free throws in 31 plus minutes.
Webster’s comeback performance
Martell Webster is making a great comeback for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The player posted 13 points after missing almost half the season, while going 5 for 5 from the shooting field, also pinning 2 of 2 three-pointers in 26 plus minutes. This was fourth
time in a row that the player recorded in double digits.
Henderson’s career best
Gerald Henderson scored career high 32 points to lead the Charlotte Bobcats. Unfortunately, the team was unsuccessful in clinching a victory against Orlando Magic, despite its outstanding performance. The player has been playing commendably, scoring in double
digits in the previous 10 games. Henderson has averaged 16 points in these games that is twice the time the average he has scored this season.
