Carmelo Anthony is the new face of "Mission Athletecare" – NBA News
The 6 ft 8 small forward Carmelo Anthony, who represented New York Knicks last season and Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings are the two latest high profile NBA stars, who to join the fitness brand ‘Mission Athletecare’.
Dwyane Wade and Steve Nash are the other two current NBA players that are associated with the company.
Mission Athletecare is a reputed company. Many prominent faces in the American sports industry are affiliated to this company including Alonzo Mourning, Serena Williams, Mia Hamm, Billy Jean King, David Wright and Georges St. Pierre.
All these stars have marketing, research and development roles with the firm. Recently, with the help of Dwyane Wade, the firm launched its product “Court Grip” that is applied under the shoe and provides friction on a slippery
floor.
Anthony is expected to make his first appearance for the firm later today at Modell’s Sporting Goods in New York’s Times Square where he will be promoting the brand new product of the company “Power Grip”, a product designed to
encounter the effects of sweaty palms.
Power Grip, which comes with a gag line “Liquid chalk technology”, is basically an alternate to the talcum powder that players use before entering the court.
A promotional advertisement is also been sequenced out in which Anthony will be saying:
“You can grab it, two drops on your hand, and you’re good to go – no more sweaty hands, you won’t think nothing of it. Sweaty hands are out the door.”
It will be followed with another scene in which Anthony playing a ball during a game will suddenly hold his hands up and verbalize
“These are not just hands. They are game winners. They are vicious rebounders. They steal from the weak. They dominate the triple-threat. They swat away nonsense. Sometimes they throw down hard. Other times they have the softest
touch. But they have to always be dry. They need more than just chalk. It’s no sweat with Power Grip. Liquid chalk technology. Only from Mission.”
Anthony who was busy the whole week promoting different products is thrilled with the prospect of becoming the part of this firm. Earlier this week, he also made an appearance at the inauguration of his brand new basket ball shoe.
Brandon Jennings, another player to sign the deal along with Anthony feels honoured to be the part of the firm. He was all praise for the firm’s product Court Grip and thinks such products should be introduced regularly by the
company as they will be beneficial for players.
