Does Key West have any good excursions? Any beaches there? Is it a strictly walk around place? Is the cruise port in walking distance of anythng and what is a "do not miss this" suggestion.

Thanks

  1. When we went in December we did the Pub Crawl. It came with a tshirt and 5 or 6 drinks, one at each of the bars we stopped st. The cost was $38 and definitely worth it. Yes we could have just walked around and drank anywhere but this way we went to some very cool out of the way places we wouldn't have normally found

  2. there are two places where u can port one being close to everything the other they take u on a free ride right near everything. i personally like walking around key west. the beach is man made and i would rather spend my money on anouther island for snorkling etc... if u are there for lunch go to eat at sloppy joes. key lime pie go to blonde girafee they were on food network and they have key lime pie dipped in choc. on a stick .. to die for. there are a few bars open in the am. go to duval street, look for mile 0 mark. go to southern most point. there are also some bike tours that are fun, good exercise and way to see the town

  3. They have snorkel and scuba excursions, as well as glass bottom boat rides.  You can tour the Hemingway house and Audobon's house also...and Mel Fishers treasure museum too!!  I'm sure there are more, check www.carnival.com and you can get a list of excursions.  The boat docks at Mallory Square which is pretty much the heart of Key West, with all the bars, restaurants and shops there.  If you want to go to the beach though, you'll have to take a taxi.  Even though it is an island, there are only 2 beaches.  Have fun, its a great place to go.

  4. www.shoretrips.com

    This website is very helpful.

They list all the shore excursions you can do at almost every destination.

I use it all the time.

If you need more info let me know.

  5. the cruise ships dock right near the main drag (i forget what the street name is). when the Carnival cruise ship i was on  pulled (6 am) in we had to be back on board board by 11 am that morning. only one bar was open at 10 am. not much to do prior. but, i did have a 4 day weekend there a few years back as well. chartered a boat for some fishing while my wife went to Ernest Hemingway's house and visited all the 100 cats.
