Ok, so next year i am planning on going on vacation on a cruise for my Birth-day/Graduation present, cause i'll be turning 18. Im excited just even thinking about it. I bet it'll be awesome. But, I want to know from people who has experienced The Cruise before, because i haven't. Whats it like? I've looked up videos on youtube of the cruise, but it just shows what all the Cruise has and stuff. I want to know from actual people what its like!

Please and thank you,

  1. HECK YES to the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake....(drools)...cruising is great...I'd recommend getting a cabin with a balcony if you can spare the extra cash, because there are some times when you want to relax and look at the ocean but you don't want to hang out on deck with everyone else.

  2. A cruise is the best time you will ever experience in your entire life.  Plain and simple.  'Nuff said.  If you want me to go into details, just shoot me an e-mail.  I'm @ work right now so I can't be online for too long, but I would love to share details with you.  I am 23 and am fortunate enough to have 4 cruises under my belt, my first one I was like 15 or 16, than 17, than 21 and then 23.  I will never stop cruising and I'd like to do one every year for the rest of my life.

  3. The Carnival Conquest is a very nice ship.  We have sailed her twice.

@ 110 tons, she give a very smooth ride.

She has a good deal of varied activities and entertainment so all ages and tastes in music will enjoy the nightlife.

Embarkation can be a hassle.  We highly recommend using Lighthouse Parking instead of parking at the cruise terminal.  It is cheaper and the shuttle is very convenient.  You and your party don't have to wait while the driver goes and parks the car and returns.  http://www.lighthouseparking.org/

Rooms are usually not ready until about 1:30 m or after so be prepared to sit on the deck or other common areas if you board before that time.  The buffet, grill, asian cafe and pizzeria are open when you board so you can enjoy lunch while you are waiting.

The first two days are out to sea so plan to soak up the sun, swim, use the hot tub, visit the casino (@ 18, you can!).

Jamaica is your first port of call.  Be careful here.  If you take a shore excursion, be sure to book it through Carnival.  Dunns Falls is fun but a very physical activity.

Grand Cayman is beautiful.  However, you have to tender (ride the ferry) from the ship tot the dock.  Allow plenty of time to catch the tender.  GC is a bit expensive and the vendors don't negotiate.

Cozumel is great fun.  Take plenty of $1, 5 and 10 for shopping in the markets.  Most of the vendors, especially those outide the "mall" areas will negotiate with you.

Don't miss the Warm Chocolate Melting cake in the dining room.  It is awesome.

Buy the Soda Fountain card (about $45) if you are a soda drinker.  It will pay for itself.  Notable...the soda card is not good for sodas ordered from room service.

Mark the handles of your luggage with brightly colored ribbon, yard or plastic tape.  There will be a sea of mostly black luggage upon debarkation.  If you want a porter, be sure to get in line first, before you find your luggage.

    Have a good time!

  4. If I were you I'd walk into a local travel agency and hear it from them too. Face to face with someone that can lead you in the right direction. Give it a try!

  5. when i had a Mexican cruise from Los Angeles, it was so delightful. It's such a wonderful experience. Even just staying inside the ship is such a big blast. They have a wide array of activities and you just pick those of which you like and have the time of your life. I am a lawyer so my life is pretty hectic, and having that cruise, it felt like time always depended on you. You don't have to catch anything and the feeling is so wonderful. It's such a great reward, or in your case, a present for yourself!

I hope you'll have an awesome time just like what I had!!

    BON VOYAGE!!
