  1. Yes, you should bring money, and there are a lot of things to do for a 15 year old.  A cruise is the perfect vacation for a family with all ages..  You should expect dances, concerts, and karaoke all for people your own age.  I think you will enjoy the trip!

  2. Hope you have a great time on your cruise!  I have a few suggestions / comments for you - hopefully it helps!

Spending money for your personal use while you're on the ship has to be credited to your room card - IF your parents activate it in that way - you can give your cash to the main desk, and they'll credit it to your card and then you can spend it anywhere on the ship you want to.

That being said, there's not a whole lot of things that you'll NEED to buy onboard, and indeed, not a whole lot that you'll really want to.  $50 for an unlimited soft drinks package might be worth considering.   Bingo cards, maybe.  The ship's arcade games (which are unfortunately overpriced) use the room key also.

Better idea is to bring your PSP or Nintendo DS to the teen hangout area - O2 it was called on the last Carnival ship I was on - I saw close to a dozen kids hanging out playing DS games together using Wifi and having a blast.   The staff had brought them a pizza and some drinks, and it looked like fun times, lol.

As to what exactly the *official* teen activities were, on a given day, I'm not sure...  there was at least one pool party for teens, and a Halloween costume party.   I think there was an ice cream-eating contest one day also.

  3. I have cruised on Carnival several times...and have several friends who work on/with Carnival.  Our suggestion (since we dont know what ship your sailing on) is to definately sign up for camp Carnival.  They have activites centered around kids for the entire cruise.  You're broken down by age groups so you get to meet kids who are the same age and into the same things as you.  They have dances nightly in the "adult" disco, sleepovers, games, and even shore excurions just for campers.  I know for the 16-17 yr olds they have Club O2 and on some ships means they have a nightclub just for you.  The ship I was on last Carnival's Liberty even had a huuge arcade for all the kids.  You needn't being money as Carnival is on a cashless system and you use your room key to purchase everything which is attached to mom or dad's credit card so be careful!!!!  Most of all have fun!!! I love cruising and when my son is old enough I cant wait to take him.

  4. Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then explore the different boards.  You might especially be interested in "First Time Cruisers".  Go to the "Roll Call" section to find others who will be on your cruise.  The "Carnival" board will give you specific info about your ship.  I think there is also a board for "Traveling with Kids" or "Teens" in the "Special Interest Cruising" - not sure about that.

You might also want to click on "Reviews" at the top of the page, where you'll find reviews from pros and past passengers.
