Question:

Carnival Cruise- Conquest-Casino, ATM, Cash out?

I am going on the Carnival Conquest and we are trying to decide how much cash we should bring.

Does anyone know how the casino's work? Cash basis or sail and sign card? Anyone used the ATM on board? How much are the fees and how much can you withdraw per day?

Anyone know about cash advances from a credit card? How does this work?

We want to use cash for everything, even the sail and sign card, but don't want to take too much with us in case it is stolen.

We have visa gift cards but don't know how if those will work on a cruise ship and Carnival couldn't tell me.

  1. You can use both cash and your sail and sign card in the casino on the Conquest.

I did not use the ATM on board but heard my cousin complaining they were very high.

If you open a cash sail and sign card, you can deposit the cash when you board and you will get a check for any unused dollars at the end of the cruise.

Each room has a safe for valuables.  But don't use your sail and sign card as the key.  Use your driver's license.

You can't use the visa gift cards on board.  You can only use your sail and sign card which you link to a cash account or a credit card.

Our friends just returned from a trip on the Conquest.  One lady won $2,000.

But you should take care to manage your valuables.  Don't leave wallets and purses unattended.  There are too many people moving around (crew and passengers) and an unattended wallet is an easy score.
