  1. I've never been on a cruise...but I can tell you that Teakdecking Systems installed all of the teak decks for the Carnival Freedom!

  2. I would take Royal Caribbean over Carnival any day.  My personal experiences with Carnival have been less than stellar.  Their customer service is very lacking and the food on Royal Caribbean was much better!  Of course, if you're really young you might want to experience Carnival for yourself.  I'm older and don't care for it.

  3. I go on cruises every year; sometimes more than one cruise a year.  I have been on Royal Caribbean many times and it is top rated in my book.  I have also been on Princess (great ships and food/staff), Celebrity (great ships and staff/food), and Norwegian.  All of these are rated better then Carnival.  If you are in your 20's or early 30's and your main goal is to party, party, party and you are not concerned about your room and food, then take Carnival.  If you are looking for a better quality cruise take Royal Caribbean.  If you want to be with a more mature and quieter crown of people, go with RC.

I personally would never go on a Carnival cruise anywhere.

  4. Royal Caribbean. My travel agent won't even let book a Carnival cruise. Plus, I think this is the first year Carnival has cruised the Mediterranean so their staff might not be as knowledgeable this year.

  5. It depends on what you like to do - but I would choose Royal Caribbean!  Very fun and lots of pampering.

  6. It all depends on your interests and what you would like to do.  Unfortunately some people have a problem with Carnival and think it is a haven for young people who want to drink and party all the time.  This isn't the case (the whole partying thing that was done on the news was on Royal Caribbean not Carnival).

I can only speak for Carnival because this is the only company I cruise with.  They have something for everyone, you don't have to get dressed up and go the dining room as you can eat the good food on the lido deck.

I suggest going to www.cruisecritic.com or www.cruisemates.com and read some reviews from the site and the users on it, but still take a look at the ships from the respective company website and see if there is something that stands out versus the other.

  7. I haven't been on Royal Caribbean, but I have always been impressed by Carnival. The Freedom is new since 2007, so it will be in perfect condition.
