Carnival Cruise help???

Question

Im gonig on a carnival cruise august 3rd.

We are going to Jamaica-Grand Cayman-Cozumel, Mexico.

When i get off the ship onto the ports,

1.should i bring a backpack or what? to keep my stuff like money and thing i buy, and things to not get wet.

2.what do i do with it(backpack or something) if we go swimming on the beach?

3.is there any things that i SHOULD buy(and where)?

please dont say weed in jamaica

(therer are going to be drug dogs when we get back on)

4.anywhere i should definately go or see?

im bringing my digital camera and underwater camera.

1.  I usually bring a backpack full on suntan lotion, cameras, and beach towels.  Carnival will provide you with beach towels.  However, if you lose them, they are expensive to replace.  I bought a waterproof wallet on Ebay a few years ago and I always bring that with me on the islands.  Your money and "Sail and Sign" Cruise cards will get wet, but that's ok.

2.  Most excursions will have lockers or areas to put your backpacks.  However, if you are on the island for a long period of time.  I would only bring the backpack to the places you need to bring it.  You can make several trips back to the boat throughout the day.  If you book excursions, they take you back for free (it's included in the cost of the excursion.)

3.  I would buy all souvenirs from the shops that are available as soon as you get off of the ship.  They will always bargain.  NEVER settle for the asking price.  They will go lower.  If they don't, keep looking because several shops sell the same stuff.

4.  In Jamaica (depending if you're going to Ochos Rios) you should try Dunns River Falls.  (you can view videos of this on youtube)  

Grand Cayman has excellent snorkeling

The last time I was in Cozumel, we went on an ATV excursion.  We didn't bring a backpack to this, although you could put it on the back of the 4 wheeler.  The transportation was included in the cost.  We rode 4-wheelers for a couple of hours along the beach and through a tropical jungle with wild monkeys.  Then we stopped on the beach for a break with sandwiches and drinks (That was included with the excursion.)  We got a ride back to the ship, changed, and spent the rest of the day shopping and tried a local mexican restaurant called "Carlos and Charlies."  

If you buy your excursions through carnival, they are guaranteed to get you back to the ship on time, or the boat will not leave.  If you book things yourself, you are not guaranteed to get back on the ship if you arrive later than expected.  The boat will leave you.  Plus, 9 times out of 10, the prices are better.  Carnival buys tons of excursions, so the companies give them a better deal, in turn giving you the best deal.

Have a great time on your cruise.  You will love it!!

Definately try to go to the dunns river and climb the water fall!! Its awsome!! Margrita ville is pretty cool too!! When u get to mexico u should go see the Mayan ruins...its pretty interesting!! And when u go to grand cayman...go to h**l!! lol...its a little town. HAVE FUN!!! =]
