My husband and I are planning on taking a cruise in July on the Carnival Cruise line to the Carribean.

They have a spa and a gym and lots of other things, is all that included into the cruise?I looked on their website but I didn't see anything that said anything about that.

Also, how expensive is the food and drinks there too?

I just want to know how much money we're gonna need and cover all the bases. Thanks

  1. the  spa you have to pay for the gym is free

the food is included beverages are not included unless is from you meals any alcoholics drinks and soda you pay for them they do not take cash you give your credit card and they will give you a card and that is what you will be using and at the end of the cruise they will give you the copy of all the expenses and purchases that you made on the ship

  2. What ship are you going on?

Last summer I went on the legend, and loved it.

The spa treatments are not included in the price, but you can use the workout facilities, hot tub, sauna etc. at no charge. If you end up wanting to do spa treatments, wait til the last day or so, the prices are almost cut in half! Or go to the spa on a day that your docked.

The only thing that cost money is if you drink liquers, and special coffes. The drinks are around 3.50 a peice.

Hope I helped, you will have TONS of fun with Carnival.

  3. Food is included, although if your ship has a supper club the charge is $30 pp (which is so totally worthit). most of the gym is free (some classes have a nominal fee) the spa charges by service. alcohol runs between $5 and $8. the entertainment on the boat is free, although there is a charge for bingo and the wine tasting

  4. all good questions for your travel agent. make a list.

  5. Im going on carnival in june and asked a similar question, but more specifically to my bar tab.  You may be able to look it up in the search engine here in the yahoo answers.  But basically, the drinks are priced like you are out at a restaurant.  So, if you like high end mixed drinks, then you are looking at $10 cocktails which include a gratuity.  Here's a link to a website to give you the low down.....  Let's put it this way, I'm gonna need at least $70/day for drinks.  Remember, it's vacation.  You should also do some research on trip advisor on activities to do at port, rather than booking them off the ship. Plus there's the mandatory tips, which are added to your room bill - actually this is easier for you and needed as that is how the ship workers earn a lot of their pay.

I'd say $100-$150 per day per person (this includes on shore excursions and dining but not shopping) if you really want to just relax and enjoy yourselves.  Have a great time!

  6. My husband and I took a 7day cruise and I must say I was quite surprised (pleasantly) at what we actually spent over and above our cruise $$$

We purchased all our shore excursions in advance, so they were not included in the price.

I drink wine and beer; he's a top shelf liquor drinker. Even including a tip our bar bill was never over $100 per day, and that was the sea days. On the days we had excursions it was much less.  All your food is free. EVen if you order room services it's free....but you need to tip.

Here's how I'll figure it for my next cruise....

$10 per drink; which would include tip. It will be less most times, but if you/he are top shelf or expensive wine drinkers this is a safe estimate.

Call your local spa for rates; they'll be comparable on the ship.

Gambling in the casino is fun for a night or two; allow for that too, because you probably won't break even :-)

Our incidentals were actually less than $1000 for the 7 days, and we had a couple of rainy days!

  7. The spa is in the ship, but you have to pay for it. The gym and food are all included on your payment. The exceptions to the food are in specialty restaurants, which charge about $10-20 per person. For the drinks, the only free drinks are water, punch, and coffee. Soft drinks and alcohols are not. They are about 3.50 or $4 when you have a soda card, or possibly seperate.

Well, for two people to the Caribbean in July, I'd say the total price for you two for the tickets are going to range from about $1,600-$2,000. You need to also tip your waiters, maitre' ds, and maids, but I don't know how much. You also need to pay for fuel charges. If you're looking for activities to do on port, you need to pay for them in a seperate price, probably about from under $50 to somewhere over $500 per person. Hope that helps, and have a great time!
